Engagement Session with Elena & Ronnie
July 18th, 2010

Plan A was to shoot Hip Hop artist TinoCochino in Malibu, CA and capture the beautiful Southern California beach in the back ground, but, Like most productions we were behind schedule. So now to plan B: Shoot in Malibu with the dark night for our backdrop. I love shooting on-location because you never know how the natural light is going to look in the images. As a photographer you have to go with the punches and think creative. Even though it was an accident, I like the fact that we shot at night. Every picture I had seen of Malibu has been shot durring the day or sun set. So here is something different.

Jordan raps so he wanted a rap/hip hop album cover look for his senior portraits. He came to the right guy because hip hop music is one of my favorite genres. I love the urban feel these images carry.

For Erik’s 30th b-day we went out for an all day shoot. Here are two flix of the shoot.

Erik Valencia photographed in Orange Cove, CA.

Vinny was looking for urban style portraits so we drove around alleys looking for some raw backdrops. We had little time because the storm was coming through. (notice the clouds on the top flick) When it started to pour we made it back to the studio for some classic black & white head shots on a plain white background.
When Bash comes to Fresno you know He is going to kick it with family but when night falls, its all business. Club Bliss was the spot to be at on Cinco de Mayo. It was all that and a bag of chips and salsa.

When I’m out-of-state shooting photo assignments I like to try the local’s favorite eatery hot spots. When I visited Houston, Texas my client and I had lunch at Dry Creek Cafe. We both ordered The Triple Bypass Burger because Texas Monthly named “The Triple Bypass” burger at Dry Creek Cafe one of the 50 best burgers inTexas. It was definitely one of the best burgers I have ever had. I can’t wait to go back.
